Safeguarding & Safer Schools

At RSA Academy Arrow Vale safeguarding of students and staff is paramount and we work closely with the local policing team in ensuring a safer school.

Mr Scott is the Designated Senior member of staff who is responsible for ensuring the safety of both Students and Staff, the Deputy Designated Senior member of staff is Mrs Williams who supports Mr Rash in these duties.

The Safer Schools initiative has been re-launched this year with the appointment of the Police Community Support Officer who is based in school, and works closely with students, parents, staff and the wider community.

Throughout the academic year we raise the profile of safeguarding and safer schools with assemblies on Bullying, Homophobic, Internet Safety, Diversity, Domestic Abuse, Violent Relationships and many more and this is ties in closely with our SMSSC and L4L programmes.

Each case is treated with dignity and respect and we work closely with external agencies, family and the students themselves to ensure they feel safe, nurtured and receive the appropriate level of support to allow them to achieve their full potential.
