Student Support - Year 10

Year Team Leader : Miss Rawson

As well as being a Physical Education teacher, I am the Team Leader for Year 10 and my role is support pupils with their academic achievement. I liaise with pupils, staff and parents to help ensure that all pupils are on track and meeting their full potential. I also analyse data from our Key Assessments regularly throughout the year to provide an overview of the year group’s developments and the levels of progress. It is my role to ensure that all barriers to learning are removed to enable outstanding learning can take place.

Outside of school I enjoy going to the gym and also fitness classes. Despite being a PE teacher and liking to keep fit, I am quite a girly girl and enjoy doing my hair, nails and make up.

Head of Year : Mrs Wardley

I am a non-teaching member of the Students Support and Inclusion team responsible for the care, welfare and support of the Year 10 students. My role is diverse and varied and with the support of the extended team I address and try to find a solution to any problems that are getting in the way of the students learning. I have a strong focus on attendance and behaviour, there is supporting evidence through research that identifies the link between attainment and attendance hence the desire that all students are in school all of the time to enable them to reach their academic potential. We all make mistakes but it is how we learn from them that is important and it’s my job to educate the students on how to do things differently when things go wrong.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
