Head of Year : Mrs Hossack

Hello! I’m Mrs Hossack, part of the Student Support Team and the non-teaching Head of Year for year 9. The focus of my role is to ensure that whatever the circumstances all students are working towards achieving excellence in their learning. We all know how crazy life can be, but my role is about working towards a solution and finding a positive way forward whatever the situation. Behaviour and attendance is a big part of my role as students have the best opportunity for success when their attendance is high and their behaviour for learning is good. Historically I have worked in support roles outside of mainstream education and firmly believe that school is the best place for a young person to be as it offers the highest quality education and best prospects for the future.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
