RSA Academy Arrow Vale has been awarded the ‘Gold’ Sainsbury’s School Games Kitemark, a nationally awarded mark that rewards schools for their commitment to and the development of school sport and competition. It has been designed to provide schools with an award to show their level of engagement in the Sainsbury’s School Games and school sport.  Nationally over 1600 schools applied for the Kitemark and only 4% (70 schools) achieved gold status. Schools were required to fulfill prerequisite criteria and 12 additional gold level criterions to achieve this accolade.  Some of these included holding a fully inclusive School Games Day, giving pupils the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of intra and inter school sports, providing opportunity for pupils to take on leadership roles in sport and developing a School Sport Organising Committee

Overall, RSA Academy Arrow Vale is able to demonstrate a strong all round programme of sport related activity.

School Games Organiser for Redditch, Karen Pearson, presents the engraved plaque, pennant and certificate to Principal Guy Shears, Director of Learning and Standards for PE Niall Brennan, and Young Sports Ambassador and Chair of the School Sport Organising Committee Katie Edwards.
