Peter Redfern. BA, NPQH, FRSA. Chair of Governsors
I am hugely proud of being associated with Arrow Vale. Both my daughters were pupils at Tenacres, then St.Peter’s/Ipsley and then through to the high school. I have a background in education, and I am keen to ‘pay back’ the tremendous start they have had. I have been a Governor at Arrow Vale for about nine years, and have seen some incredible changes. I believe in every child’s entitlement to the highest standards in education, irrespective of where they live. Some very significant, and often difficult decisions have, and will continue to be made to ensure that students at RSA Academy share a culture of hard work and success. RSA Academy Arrow Vale is striving for outstanding outcomes and I see my role as supporting this drive by offering my advice, expertise and experiences as well as my time.
Peter is also a Director of the Redditch RSA Academies Trust.

For many years I taught Human Geography and Urban Studies at Liverpool John Moores University and also became involved in institutional developments in teaching and learning. More recently I worked for the Quality Assurance Agency, the organisation that assures standards in UK universities. As a Fellow of the RSA I am very pleased to have the opportunity to support the work of Arrow Vale.

A Redditch resident since 1998, previously governor at Arrow Vale RSA Academy, including Chair of Finance Committee and now back as an RSA Governor in the new governing structure. A Life Fellow of the RSA and delighted to see how Arrow Vale comes up to their challenging expectations. My experience is in a range of fields in the UK, Europe and Africa with the Open University Business School, also as a business psychologist, field research manager on European funded regional projects, Human Resources and Training Manager, change management consultant.
I am enthusiastic about seeing the further progress that Arrow Vale can achieve and look forward to seeing how I can help and make a contribution.

Ron Colebrook – Governor
I have been a governor at the school for over 18 years, initially as a Parent Governor, as an Authority Governor nominated by Redditch Borough Council, and currently as an Appointed Governor by the School to the Local Governing Body. Previous to Arrow Vale I was also Governor at Moatfield and Ipsley Middle schools.
My two daughters and son have gone through the pyramid system and educated here at Arrow Vale, and I have being proud to watch them and their many friends grow up into young adults and latterly parents.
I have served on and chaired a number of committees, including Finance and Resources, and believe that it is the role of Arrow Vale to provide the best possible teaching ensuring that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Term of office ends August 31st 2018
Richard Davies – Governor
I have lived in Redditch for 11 years and am married with one son. I was invited to become a school governor 2 years ago and was delighted to join such a vibrant and enthusiastic team of governors.
I am the owner / manager of a successful electrical contracting business in Birmingham, established over 30 years ago. This has allowed me to gain expertise in areas such as tendering of contracts, procurement, and health and safety. As a Governor at Arrow Vale I am able to help the school provide a better infrastructure to develop the children’s education and provide a business view when governing body decisions are needed.
