CPD

Members of staff receive frequent CPD throughout each academic year that is designed around our teaching and learning policy, but is also bespoke to staff's career-stage, subject, and personal developmental needs. Our CPD programme is composed of three strands: our whole school CPD strand includes statutory training such as safeguarding; departments are provided with time to arrange subject-specific CPD and to develop staff knowledge of their disciplines; and we also run a year-long individual CPD strand according to staff needs or progression opportunities.

Examples include:

  • Teaching and Learning, which focusses each year on specific elements of pedagogy, such as questioning and modelling. These elements will align between both the whole school and individual CPD.
  • Regular pastoral CPD to raise awareness of student needs.
  • Subject-specific CPD, which has previously included a variety of opportunities: co-planning of schemes of learning; cross-Trust moderation; effective use of technical equipment such as the 3D printer and data probes.
  • Leadership (including the Middle Leadership programme and aspiring Senior Leadership.
