Richard Davies – Chair of Governors
I have lived in Redditch for 17 years and am married with one son. I am the owner / manager of a successful electrical contracting business in Birmingham, established over 30 years ago. This has allowed me to gain expertise in areas such as tendering of contracts, procurement, and health and safety, with several recent contracts involving school renovation and development in Birmingham.
I was invited to become an academy governor 8 years ago and was delighted to join such a vibrant and enthusiastic team of governors at Arrow Vale. After having been the Vice Chair for the Local Academy Governing Board, and working with the Multi Academy Trust as the Chair of the Health and Safety Expert Group, I am delighted to now be appointed as Arrow Vale’s Chair of Governors.
As a Governor at Arrow Vale I am able to help the academy provide a better infrastructure to develop the students’ education and provide a business view when governing body decisions are needed. As Chair I will focus on safeguarding and leadership at the academy, having spent my previous year as Vice Chair monitoring behaviour and attendance.
