It is my great pleasure to invite you to look around our school website ….
Visitors to school comment on how well our students interact with each other and staff, which creates a very purposeful, calm yet friendly and welcoming atmosphere in which students have the opportunities to fulfil their potential.
Our school is an ‘outstanding school’ (Ofsted May 2014) and has been designated as a National Teaching School – this enables us to train people to become teachers, and also to train existing professionals due to the quality of teachers at our school – for instance, we run a subject enhancement programme for Physics teachers from other schools. (For more information about our Teaching School Alliance (TSA) click here.) We are also a National Support School, providing support for teachers and schools within the West Midlands Region. These initiatives make Arrow Vale a very desirable place to teach, and to learn to teach, which means we can attract and develop the very best staff to work at or school. This clearly enables us to secure the best possible learning environment for our students.
We are an inclusive school where everyone works together to be the very best they can be. As one of the schools in the RSA Family of Academies, our community benefits from the support and resources of the RSA, providing students with innovative learning and life-enhancing opportunities. RSA Academies are distinctive, with a particular passion for academic success generated through creative teaching and learning, and skills development, that best prepares students for the world beyond school. Follow this link to read in detail why students at our RSA Academy get an experience that gives a range of quality experiences and opportunities that most schools can only dream of. We believe in generating the best possible learning experiences in all subject areas, whether it be English, maths, the creative and expressive arts, sport, science, languages, design, and a whole host of other subjects we offer at GCSE and A Level. Students being able to discover and follow their passion is a passion of ours. We aim to give them the Power to Create.
We have very high standards for our students. We expect all students to wear our full uniform, have excellent attendance and support each other through their behaviour and efforts in class. Students are expected to work very hard in order to maximise their potential, taking as much from the high quality teaching and learning we demand of our staff as possible. We work very hard to prepare them for higher education or high quality employment, enabling them to lead fulfilling and successful lives. We aim to be the outstanding platform for them to be the best they can be.
Please view on this website in particular the news section, the SMSC section, and the Discover enrichment programme, Aim High transition programme and the Excel intervention programme for an insight into life beyond the academic subjects that our school offers – student leadership at the school is truly exceptional.
This website should give you an insight into our school, what we offer, and most importantly our students’ achievements. We also aim to provide you with information you may need about the school. However, a website can never be good enough to show all that we have to offer, so please do come along and see us in action. Just contact the school to make an appointment and we will be happy to show the school off to you.
