Key Stages 3 – 4

During Year 9 students will study a range of subjects, enabling them to experience a variety of lessons prior to taking their Options for GCSE / BTEC. Students study English Language and English Literature; mathematics; science; History; Geography; Spanish; and core PE. In addition, they will also experience: Music; Drama; Catering; DT; Art; ICT.

Year 10 – Students start their chosen options in Year 10. These are two year courses and students build towards their GCSE and / or BTEC qualifications. In some subjects they will begin their coursework and some BTEC subjects will prepare for early entry exams, sat at the end of Year 10. Students will sit pre-GCSE exams at several points within the year, in all subjects, in order to prepare them.

Year 11 – Students conclude their GCSE/BTEC qualifications in Year 11. They will sit their English Language GCSE in Year 11, having already sat their English Literature in Year 10. Students will be invited to a range of intervention and revision sessions in preparation for their examinations.
