During Year 9, students will have the opportunity to attend an Options Open Evening to see the variety of subjects on offer. This will be followed by an Options Information Evening where students will receive personalised option forms highlighting suggested pathways of study including the English Baccalaureate and vocational options.
CAREERS EDUCATION, INFORMATION, ADVICE AND GUIDANCE (CEIAG)
When it comes to careers education, information, advice and guidance, our aim at Arrow Vale is to ensure that we deliver the very best careers education to all students in Year 9. Upon entry they will be interviewed about their career aspirations by their form tutor. This will be shared with the CEIAG lead who can then source relevant visits and speakers. Throughout year 9 there are a myriad of workplace visits and internal workshops led by industry professionals and presentations followed by Q&A. There are also several industry professionals and bodies offering apprenticeships and traineeships who come in and deliver bespoke assemblies. Each year 9 student is given a Unifrog account which enables and empowers them to take ownership of their own careers’ pathway. We have a level 6 trained Careers Advisor in school every Monday to which year 9 students have access. Worcestershire Skills Show, options advice and an annual Employability Day are also part and parcel of the comprehensive careers advice on offer here at Arrow Vale.
